Are You Able to Save People’s Lives with MLM?

The network marketing industry is often seen as controversial. When you join a network marketing company, you are then faced with the intimidating job of telling your friends and family. What will be their response? But, why would one be so afraid of confessing such a thing? Is a career in network marketing really so bad?

The problem is that when a network marketing rep tells others about his/her work with a sense of shame, however hard they try to hide it, others can sense it straight away. This isn’t a very encouraging way to talk about an exciting business opportunity! It reinforces the wrong impression about MLM—an impression many people wrongly hold.

Network marketing is like a knife. What is a knife—what does it mean to you? Is it a useful tool, possibly for saving people’s lives? In the hands of a skilled surgeon it certainly is. Or, is it a weapon to be feared and dreaded? This is what it would be in the hands of a criminal! But, the knife remains the same—one way or the other. It is the way it’s used and the impression that makes on others that changes. Network marketing is much the same.

Network marketing reps who treat their prospects as a resource to be exploited are not using the network marketing tool in the right way. Like the surgeon, a network marketing rep should be careful and precise—and use his/her tool for good. Network marketing is a career that works best for those whose intentions are honorable. If you really want to help others achieve their true potential, then you will truly be like the surgeon.

How exactly does one do this? The secret is not to be shy or seem embarrassed when you talk to your prospects. Talk about your network marketing opportunity with conviction and confidence. Why would you do otherwise? Believe in your own mind that you have a way to release people from poverty and lead them to a better life, and this will shine through to whoever you talk to. If you feel, yourself, that you are exploiting others by sharing your network marketing opportunity with them, then it will become a self fulfilling prophecy! Your belief will betray you and you will come across badly—the criminal wielding the knife, not the surgeon. Be proud when you tell others what you do!

The same concept applies to your product. If you believe it is a great product that can deliver what it claims (and why would you be selling it if you didn’t?), it would be a crime to keep it from others. You have a responsibility to tell as many people as possible and allow as many people as possible to benefit from the product and the opportunity to make money from it.

Don’t forget, as a network marketing leader, your job is to help others succeed. You must do your best in trying to help your downline achieve the greatest possible success. And, if these individuals see you acting ashamed of what you do, how will they react? Show them that you are the surgeon and take the lead.

Remember, in network marketing, the greater the number of people in your network, the more opportunity you have for spreading the good fortune and helping others to benefit from a great product. Use MLM in the right way and believe that you have in your hands a great tool to do good.
