Roadmap to Success: The Wellness Industry

StockSnap_6ASMNGB3YI1

In Part 3 of the “Wellness Industry” series, we discussed advantages 4 and 5 of an MLM business in the wellness industry over other professional involvements. They began with the fourth and fifth letters in W-E-L-L-N-E-S-S. This article features advantages 6, 7, and 8, beginning with the next letters: E, S, and S. (For a list of all articles in the series, go to https://www.mlm.com/mlm_author/infotraxsystems.)

First, let’s review the principal advantages an MLM business in the wellness industry offers over other professional involvements:

  1. W—Wellness advantage. You are part of the wellness industry—one of the most robust and promising sectors of the economy—with a prospect of becoming the next trillion-dollar sector.
  2. E—Easy to learn. The skills and procedures needed for success are easy to acquire and put into practice.
  3. L—Leveraged income = residual income. By empowering partners in your business, you can generate residual income from the very beginning using a system that works for you 24-hours a day.
  4. L—Low overhead. Your new business is relatively inexpensive to launch. You can begin immediately, with low overhead and low start-up costs. Your long-term investment will largely be in time and energy.
  5. N—No time clock. This is an ultimately flexible enterprise. You control your time involvement, with complete freedom and flexibility to accommodate and balance your various personal, family, and professional needs.
  6. E—Expandable. You can start part time, if you choose. You can follow your own preferred growth pathway. You can proceed systematically at your own pace and then advance to allow your business to become your dominant full-time career.
  7. S—Self-directed. You are your own boss. You are the president of your own company—with the opportunity to expand and grow in almost unlimited scope, based on your personal commitment, creativity, and leadership.
  8. S—Satisfaction of helping others in a noble cause. You can have the satisfaction of knowing that you are adding value to the lives of those you serve.

E: Expandable

The sixth advantage to your new line of business is that it is expandable. You can easily start part-time if you choose. After that, you can follow your own preferred growth pathway. You can proceed systematically at your own pace and eventually cross the exciting threshold when you allow your business to become your dominant full-time career.

What a convenient way to launch a new business—in your part-time hours, without jeopardizing your current professional position. You’re not risking the bread on your table in the interest of reaching out for a sumptuous banquet sometime in the future. It’s the best of all worlds.

The Flip Side of the Coin

But watch out—there is another side to this coin. Even though your new business is expandable—growing at a rate that you choose and on the time schedule you prefer—beware lapsing into thinking that you have sufficient comfort and security to coast. Remember: This business is an urgent business. You must proceed dynamically to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. Think of yourself as having jumped off the cliff toward important and irresistible goals. During your part-time phase, be prepared to shift quickly to a more full-time mentality as you look for and find those hidden opportunities of extraordinary promise and potential.

S: Self-Directed

The seventh advantage to your new business is that you are finally your own boss. You are the president of your own company, with the opportunity to grow in almost unlimited scope based on your personal commitment, creativity, and leadership. This is something you have dreamed about for years and now it’s really happening to you!

There it is right before your eyes on your own business card: John Doe or Mary Doe, President of Wellness Associates—or whatever great name you have chosen for your business. President of your own company: That means something. It’s something to be proud of.

The Flip Side of the Coin

But don’t forget the flip side of this coin. With authority comes responsibility. You may be the president, but that means you act like the president. Make presidential plans and presidential decisions. Manage with skill and leadership. Project a vision that is compelling and exciting. Take the hits with courage and resilience. Overcome the challenges with fortitude. Stay the course no matter what. Empower your associates with energy, galvanizing them to action. Show them a good example so that they can duplicate what you are doing just as well as you can.

S: Satisfaction

The eighth and final advantage of your new business is that it gives you the satisfaction of helping others in significant ways. You are involved in a noble cause. You can have the satisfaction of knowing that you are adding value to the lives of those you serve. You can have the self-respect of knowing that you are contributing to a better way of life and a more wholesome lifestyle. You can have the self-confidence that comes from being active in a worthy cause—providing something that people want and need in order to be happier and healthier.

This brings you full circle back to the “wellness advantage” I mentioned at the beginning. Helping people achieve wellness is the greatest satisfaction you can have in the commercial world. You are not being reactive to problematic lifestyle situations, you are being proactive in preventing the loss of well-being. That is leadership. That is being future-oriented. That is riding a tide that is inexorable. That is being part of the next trillion dollar industry.

And to this aspect there really is no flip side. What you see is what you get. And what you get is positive and fulfilling. Again, from Peter M. Senge: “For you to prosper in the long term, you must contribute something. And the more you can contribute on multiple dimensions, the more you’re likely to prosper” (Personal Excellence, July 1997).

Summary

Well, there you have it—eight main reasons why your new business gives you tremendous advantages over other professional involvements. It’s the remarkable Wellness Formula:
