Social Media with Party Platforms

Social media is becoming one of the most popular methods for getting information to people. According to www.statisticsbrain.com, there are over 1.4 billion users worldwide on Facebook alone. Utilizing Facebook and other social media sites like Twitter, Flickr, and even LinkedIn can really boost a business with minimal effort and maximum reward. These distributors from across the country explain how they use social media with party platforms.

Monika Purpura, Perfectly Posh, Washington

I am an Independent Consultant for Perfectly Posh , LLC., a skincare company that’s only about two years old. I use Facebook because it reaches everybody within the USA, no matter where they live. (Posh only sells within the USA.) I love doing this! I didn’t want to do anything like this anymore, because I failed at Mary Kay (2 Million Consultants!) and Scentsy (450,000 Consultants), but I love doing this! I bought the stuff for myself and people kept asking to buy stuff from me, plus I have a team member and a few potential ones, without even trying! I love it!

Make sure to give as much detail about what you offer, how to order, keep posting product information throughout the Online Event! Offer drawings, do an online game to encourage purchases. Incentives are great, but keep it affordable so you still make money! (People love samples! Offer a Sample Bag to the winner, make it look nice/cute and post a picture of it.)

Be careful with scammers. You might get an email from “an ill person” that can only pay with a money order and is trying to place a large order. You will never see your money. The money orders are fake. Most companies warn about that.

Natalie Friis, Younique, Oregon

I work for Younique, one of the newest direct sales companies in the industry. Launched in November 2012 for product purchase, Younique offers a fresh line of affordable high-end mineral cosmetic products to the direct sales market and a unique business opportunity for budding entrepreneurs.

Younique was ranked 3rd Trending Company by the end of 2012 and continues on its way up! Sales in July 2014 were estimated at $15 million for the month, which is not too shabby for a company that is not quite 2 years old! It is through social media’s vast reach that during the launch in July 2013, Younique only sold 100 units of product a day. Fast forward one year and we now sell 10,000 + units of product in a single day! New products are announced twice a year to keep things on trend using only the highest quality ingredients and price point of quality that cannot be matched.

Younique is the first direct-sales company to market and sell almost exclusively through the use of social media. The vision of Younique through Virtual Parties opens a huge network of social media and the traditional home-party business model. A Virtual Party has no limits to my reach or who I can invite. This makes it so the traditional home party is not even necessary, unless I choose to hold one. The company provides the tools that help me to tap into my own resources and connections and reach millions of people through social media.

Younique offers social networking sites such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram that I can utilize and spread the word about my business and products. I am able to oversee how I would like to run my business while having access to the company’s business tools.

I have found social media to be an asset to my business since I can host Virtual Parties and be connected with my clientele 24/7 and this allows for updates containing the most recent information. Also, from a business standpoint, I am able to reach many more customers worldwide without the hassle and expense of having regular home parties. Social media is a wonderful avenue to promote your business worldwide.

The use of social media is a very powerful tool. It can reach many people at one time which is key to my business. I would suggest you reach out to your customers through social media and offer product information and updates along with plenty of useful product pictures. I use social media to promote our best-selling product, the famous 3D fiber mascara. I post pictures showing the before and after of those using the product. Through the power of social media, a customer who’s tried our products and loves them, refers their friends by hosting a Virtual Party and the message continues to grow along with the company’s business.

I feel very blessed and excited to be a part of the Younique family and ground floor opportunity!

Wade Brooks, Synergy WorldWide, California

I am an Independent Consultant representing Synergy WorldWide, a 15 year old network marketing company, who joined forces with a 40 year old publicly traded product manufacturer named Nature’s Sunshine.

When asked if I utilize social media in my business, I must say I’ve found success in generating leads and follow-ups. I prefer to ask for the sale in person but I ask for the appointment by phone, in person, or through social media. Facebook is primarily my tool of choice, but LinkedIn also comes in handy. My relationship building skills have become sharpened on both platforms: Facebook is the primary information source and follow-up factor while LinkedIn provides business validation. Facebook ultimately shows more heart and vision which helps others gain more trust–a key to accomplishing what I must!

The Facebook advantage regarding follow-ups is great because if you must see someone 8–12 times before they purchase, then these soft touches are in your favor. Of course, there is also the very rare occasion when communication breaks down utilizing social media. As far as promoting one’s business on social media platforms, I would advise caution but definitely recommend taking advantage of it. I like the 1:10 rule (1 business to 10 fun posts) and most certainly, creating a business page would offer more real estate for business-related materials.
